Born just before the turn of the century, Robert was the eleventh child of Turner H Perry (he had 14 in all). At the time he registered for the draft for WW I on 5 Jun 1918, he was living in Temple, Bell, Texas, working for Joe Korkames. The draft registration does not indicate the type of employment. He was drafted and served his country in WW I.

He is listed on two census records in January 1920. Around the 10th he is shown to be living with his parents in Belton, Bell, Texas, working as a salesman at a department store. By 28 Jan 1920 he had moved to Abilene, Taylor, Texas and was living in the home of his sister Annie Perry Henry and her family. He was working as a salesman in a dry goods store.

In Abilene he met Eula Mae Logsdon. They were married 20 Jun 1920 and in the next seven years they had six children, all appearing in the 1930 Federal Census, where they are shown living in Waco, McLennan, Texas. He is listed as a finisher in a flooring company, a job from which he retired, according to his death certificate.

Robert and Eula lived out the remaining years of their lives in Waco, Texas.
