Elkader, Ia. - Special: Funeral services for Henry D. Cords, 76, were held here Sunday afternoon from the home to Frieden's Evangelical and Reformed Church with the Rev. Paul Kitterer officiating. Burial was in the East Side Cemetery.

Mr. Cords was born in Cox Creek Township, June 20, 1867 and died in the home of his birth on August 19, 1943, after an illness of several years. He was united in marriage on February 22, 1902 to Marie Stallbaum. Ten children were born to this union all of whom survive. His wife preceded him in death April 27, 1939.

Surviving are his seven sons and three daughters, and one sister Paulina Cords, and four grandchildren.

Those from a distance that attended the funeral were: Pfc. Erving Cords of Camp Young, Los Angeles, Calif.; Edward Frank Wolf, radio technician 2-c; and Mrs. Wolf of Corpus Christi, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. William Cords and daughter Lucille of Rock Island, Ill., Fred Cords of Delhi, Ia.; and Adolf Kochendorfer of Dubuque.
