An item in Sunday's Chicago Tribune brought the information that Mrs. Nellie Breese Gilbert, widow of Elias Gilbert, and daughter of Harris Breese, was dead. She died last Friday at the Grand Pacific hotel, her death thought to have resulted indirectly from a fall received December 8, on an icy sidewalk in LaSalle street. The immediate cause of death was given as heart disease, but the attending physician expressed the opinion that the accident was indirectly the cause of death. Mrs. Gilbert was 46 years old and was born and grew to womanhood in Earlville, her father having conducted a harness shop here where the Star theater now is located. The body was taken to Aurora for burial.
