Known exclusively as Lou. Served in the U.S. Army during WWI and attained the rank of PFC. He enlisted 4 Apr 1916 in the Ohio NG in Cincinnati, OH. He departed Brooklyn, NY 28 Jun 1918 for overseas duty aboard Troopship NESTOR as a member of Co. B, 112th Military Police, 37th Div. Upon completion of his overseas duty as a member of the 284th Military Police Co., Lou departed St. Nazaire, France 14 Jun 1919 aboard the USS TIGER and arrived Brooklyn, NY 27 Jun 1919. Officially, he served overseas with the American Expeditionary Forces from 27 Jun 1918 until 27 Jun 1919 and was honorably discharged 5 Jul 1919.

About the 1925-1930 time period, he worked at times on the farm of an in-law, John Milton Sosby, in Nicholas Co., KY.

Lou was 36 and Blanche Brown was 32 when they married 23 Nov 1933 in Georgetown, OH. It was his first marriage and her second.

After marriage, Lou resided in Russellville, OH, but stayed with his sister, Loretta, for many years during the week while working in Cincinnati, and returned home on weekends. He continued this practice until he retired.
