B. Nicholas Rites Planned For Friday

Services for Mrs. Blanche E. Nicholas,
77, 218 Monroe Ave., will be conducted
Friday at 2 p.m. at the Howser Mortuary.
The Rev. Gene Beye, United Methodist
Church minister, will officiate, and
burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Visitations will be Thursday from
3 to 9 p.m. at the Howser Mortuary.
Mrs. Nicholas died Tuesday in an Omaha
hospital. She was born in Cherry County,
April 11, 1903, to the late Elbert and
Elizabeth Carrico. She came to Norfolk
about 1918 and had resided here since.
She married Melvin D. Nicholas at
Stanton in June 1923. He died Sept. 14,
1956. Mrs. Nicholas was a member of the
VFW Auxiliary and active in the Norfolk
Senior Citizens.
Surviving are one son and one daughter,
William D. and Mrs. Marvin (Betty)
Papstein, both of Norfolk; nine grand-
children; eight great grand-children;
one brother, Jack of Yakima, Wash.;
and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle Spahn of
Middleburg, Ohio.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Nicholas was
preceded in death by eight brothers and
sisters.
