Gloria grew up in Bartlesville where she attended school and graduated from Bartlesville High School with the class of 1944. She met and later married her best friend, Alfred “Andy” Clarence Anderson on September 8, 1945 in Independence, Kansas. They celebrated more than 69 years of life and marriage together.
Gloria enjoyed working in retail sales at Sussmans, Brown Dunkin, and Dillards Department Stores, but she enjoyed nothing more than being a homemaker for her family. She loved taking family vacations, attending sporting events her husband officiated, and was blessed with the opportunity to watch her grandchildren. Gloria was a long time member of Southern Baptist Church, now known as Central Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She also taught Bible studies at nursing homes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Bessie Hoffman; husband, Alfred “Andy” Anderson; daughters, Sandy Anderson, Diana Arnold and Kyla Salmon; sisters, Betty Jo Shouse, Patsy Sisney, and Carol Wofford; brother, Jimmy Dale Tucker; daughter-in-law, Teresa Anderson; and great grandson, Neiko Rankin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Funeral services honoring Gloria’s life will be Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Greenhill Cemetery.
