Marie H. "Mary" (Arsenault) Dias-Roy, 89, of Fairhaven and formerly of Lakeville, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 in Alden Court Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late J. Henry Roy and the late Mark Dias.
Born September 26, 1916 in New Bedford the daughter of the late Antoine and Vatiline (Bastarashe) Arsenault, she lived most of her life in Fairhaven and 25 years in Lakeville. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven.
Mrs. Roy was a presser for Mass Shirt of New Bedford for over 30 years. She later worked Coyne Laundry. She was a member of the Travelers Club and St. Theresa-St. Anthony World Travelers Club. Mrs. Roy enjoyed knitting, reading and traveling.
She is survived by two brothers, Arcade Arsenault and his wife Stacia of North Carolina and Roger Arsenault and his wife Patricia of Fairhaven; two sisters, Jeannette Babineau and her husband Leo of West Dennis and Yvonne White of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. She is also the sister of the late Aurele Arsenault and Samuel Arsenault.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. Mary's Church, Fairhaven. Interment will be in Sacred Heart #2, New Bedford.
