Aged Former Resident Dies; Is Buried Here

Mrs. J.E. Walker, well known former resident of this city and a Texas pioneer, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E.W. McNutt, Amarillo. She had reached the age of seventy-nine years, eight months and eleven days.

Mrs. Walker was born in Kentucky on May 31, 1848, and moved to Fannin county, Texas, where she spent her girlhood. Following her marriage, she lived in Georgetown, Texas, for more than thirty years, after which she moved to Hereford. The family lived here for about eight years, and have spent the past eight years in Amarillo.

Funeral services were held in Amarillo at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, and interment was made at 4:00 p.m. in West Park Cemetery, Hereford.
