Crystal Martha Ralston was born October 19, 1921 in Gilmer County, West Virginia, the youngest of three children born to William Renick Ralston and his third wife, Martha Bennett. Crystal had twelve half-brothers and sisters through her father's previous two marriages as well as at least three half brothers or sisters from her mother's first marriage.

Chesapeake - Crystal Martha Ralston Hinzman, age 90, a resident of Chesapeake Place Assisted Living in Chesapeake, Virginia, formerly of Glenville, West Virginia went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2012 following a brief illness.
She was born October 19, 1921 on the family farm on Laurel Creek near Tanner, WV, daughter of the late William Rennick Ralston and Martha Bennett Wilt Ralston. She attended a one-room elementary school and graduated from Tanner High School. She married Leo Paige Hinzman on Sept 28, 1940. She worked in defense plants in Tennessee and Huntington WV during World War II; and for the Coca Cola Bottling Co, Wyoming County Insurance and WWYO radio station as office manager in Pineville WV. She and Paige retired to Glenville in 1977 to their home in Camden Flats where she resided till moving to Chesapeake VA in 2007. She was a member of Cook Memorial Baptist Church in Pineville and First Baptist Church in Glenville, where she served as circle president and financial secretary. She was also a member of the Bridge Club. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, where she served as Worthy Matron.
She was preceded in death by her husband Paige, her parents, her brother Virgil, her sister Estella and many half-brothers and sisters. She is survived by cousin Billy Bennett of Glenville WV, sisters-in-law Esther Clevenger of Cox's Mills WV and Ruby Frymier of Tanner WV; nephew Donald Plaster and niece Debra Plaster of Virginia Beach VA and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday February 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Ellyson Mortuary Inc. in Glenville WV. A Funeral service will be held at Ellyson Mortuary on Tuesday February 21 at 11 a.m.; with Rev. Kenny Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery on Kanawha Drive. Family and friends will gather afterwards at First Baptist Church in Glenville.
