Dion Howland Davey was born April 10, 1931 in Wilmar, California to Paul Howland Davey and Maude Elizabeth Soule. He was the oldest of three sons born to them. The family moved to Chiloquin, Oregon in 1939, and Dion Graduated from Klamath Falls Union High School in Klamath Falls in 1949.

He served in the US Air Force from 1949 to 1954 during the Korean War. His rank was Staff Sergeant. He began working in heavy equipment in 1955 .

On December 30, 1955 he was joined in marriage to Shirley Richards. In 1963, he began working for North American Van Lines as an owner/operator and at the end of his career, he had 32 trucks on the road.

After his retirement in 2006, he and his wife Shirley would spend 6 months of the year camping and fishing in their 5th wheel in the High Sierra's of California. The other 6 months of the year were spent in their home in Congress, Arizona, and visiting with their children and grandchildren.

Dion and Shirley had just celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in December.

Dion is survived by his loving wife Shirley, their two children, Linda ( Bob ) McKee, Jerry ( Ginger ) Davey, one granddaughter, Chasity Deason and five grandsons, Dion Davey ( Sarah),Jason ( Amber ) McKee, Jeff ( Randi) McKee, Justin McKee, Jeremy (Hannah) McKee and one brother, Philip Davey.

His brother, Harold, passed away in 1958, his father in 1986 and his mother in 2005.
