Ava Lee Mauk Birdsong, 84, of Newport, was received into the hands of God peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Curry L. Birdsong on June 9, 1998; three sons, James Anderson “Andy” Birdsong on November 19, 2011, Robert Matthew “Bob” Birdsong on December 4, 1999, and Jeffery T. Birdsong on September 8, 1975; two daughters, Margie Lou Birdsong on December 22, 1952, and Lou Ann Birdsong-Sheets on March 16, 1996.
Her survivors are daughters-in-laws, Leticia “Tess” Aves-Birdsong of Riverdale, Georgia, and Patty Lee Toomer-Birdsong of Crowley, Texas; four grandsons, Billy Birdsong, Bobby Birdsong, Chris Birdsong, and Jacob Sheets; four step-grandsons, James, David, Tommy and Malven Prater; two step-granddaughters, Sandie and Cathrine Prater-Strother; and a host of great grandchildren and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 p.m., February 6, 2015 at Skyvue Victoria Chapel in Mansfield, Texas.
Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2015 at Remmel-McCall Cemetery in Remmel, Arkansas.
