SENECA TRIBUNE, Seneca, Kansas, Thursday, September 4, 1884. Page 2-Column 4.
We are in receipt of a letter from Seneca, Kansas, informing us of the death of Mr. Abiel E. Kibbe which occurred August 15th. His disease was consumption. He was for several years a resident here and was highly respected being a consistent member of the M. E. church; and a kind neighbor. He was a soldier in the union army, a member of the first Minnesota light artillery.., and bravely and gallantly did his duty. His wife is a sister to J. W. Allen of this place, one of the truest and best women we ever knew. In this hour of her sorrow when even the warmest sympathy of human hearts will be unable to lift the shadow, there are many homes far from here in which hearts are beating a kindred sympathy. - New Sharon Iowa Star.
