Jay Anthony “Tony” Burnside passed from this life on Friday, January 30, 2015 at his home in Idabel, Oklahoma at the age of 51. Tony was born on February 13, 1963 to Betty (Flynn) Burnside and William “Joe” Burnside in Danville, Kentucky. He was raised in Lindsay, Oklahoma and graduated from Lindsay High School. He graduated from college at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. Tony was a heavy equipment operator, owning his own heavy equipment business. He was a member of the Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Idabel.

Tony loved his girls with all of his heart, and when Bentlee was born, she was “Papaw’s baby”. He was an avid gun collector, a collector of auto memorabilia and an OU fan. He enjoyed classic rock music and sports cars. Tony will be greatly missed by his family and friends who loved him.

Tony is survived by his daughters, Meagan Burnside and Madison Burnside, his mother Betty Flynn Burnside-White, two brothers, Brad Burnside and wife Angie and Joe Burnside, two sisters, Jorene Gadberry and Robin Emerson and one granddaughter, Bentlee Shaye Burnside as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, William “Joe” Burnside, his maternal grandparents, Luther and Nola Flynn and his paternal grandparents, C.A. and Isabelle Burnside.

Funeral services for Mr. Burnside are set for two-thirty p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Erin Springs Cemetery, located on E. County Rd. 1520, just off of Hwy 76 South of Lindsay, Oklahoma with Bro. Bill Love officiating. Services are under the direction of B. G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma
