U.S. Army Major Victor Trouvé Gronenthal, 31, passed away on January 23, 2015 in Baltimore, Maryland. Victor was born on February 24, 1983 in Wilmington, Delaware to Colette Trouvé of Bear, Delaware and Bruce Gronenthal of Smyrna, Delaware. Victor married Erika Glausen of Long Island, New York on June 24, 2005 in West Point, New York. Victor was a devoted husband and a loving father to his two sons, Kai Victor (3 years old) and Finn Trevor (8 months old). Victor grew up in Bear, Delaware. He graduated from William Penn High School in 2001. While in high school, Victor served as a U.S. Senate Page for Senator William V. Roth, Jr. He attended the prestigious United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering in 2005. After graduating from USMA, Victor was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As a Captain in the U.S. Army, Victor earned a Master's Degree in Engineering and Industrial Management from the University of Missouri-Rolla in 2011. Victor excelled in multiple leadership positions while in the Army and commanded Soldiers in both combat and in garrison with distinction. Victor served admirably during his three overseas combat tours, two to Iraq and one to Afghanistan, earning the Bronze Star Medal and the Meritorious Service Medal. All who knew Victor will miss his infectious smile and gregarious personality. He was an avid cyclist, pinball machine restorer, and outdoor enthusiast. He will be missed the most by his loving family.

Victor is survived by his two sons whom he loved deeply, Kai and Finn, his dedicated wife Erika, his mother Colette, father Bruce, and his brother James Gronenthal.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8th, 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00- 9:00pm at Bryant Funeral Home, located at 411 Old Town Rd., East Setauket, New York. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 9th at 10:00am at the funeral home, interment following at Calverton National Cemetery with full military honors.
