Charles Spurgeon Stovall is the son of John Martin Stovall and Louisa (Crow) Stovall.

He was the husband of Lucy (Killian) Stovall.

Accident Fatal to Gadsdenite:

A 76-year-old Gadsden man died at a local hospital at 6 p.m. yesterday, victim of an unusual "traffic" accident.

Police officers said Charles S. Stovall, 1524 Hill Avenue, suffered fatal injuries when he went into his front yard to look over a vehicle just purchased ....... The motor of the car was running and vibration engaged the gearshift, causing the car to knock Stovall down and run over him when he walked in front of it, according to Capt. L. W. Grigsby of the Traffic Department.........

Funeral services will be announced by Collier-Butler Funeral Home.

Mr. Stovall is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lucy Killian Stovall; two daughters, Mrs. Hugh F. Milam, Gadsden; and Mrs. Joe Holt, Alabama City ; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Elledge, Gordon; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A former employee of the blooming mill for Gulf States Steel Company, he had been retired for several years. He was a member of the Twelfth Street Baptist Church where he formerly had taught a Sunday school class and had served as a deacon.

CHARLES S. STOVALL

Funeral services for Charles S. Stovall, 76, 1524 Hill Avenue, were held today at 11 a.m. from Twelfth Street Baptist Church with Dr. Hampton C. Hopkins and the Rev. Cecil M. Seale officiating.

Burial was in Crestwood Cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Active pallbearers were W. L. Longshore, Wiley Conner, Fred Garner, E.C. Robinette, D.H. Millam and Walter Hamilton.

Honorary pallbearers were members of Pioneer Sunday School Class of the 12th Street Baptist Church; W. C. Harris, T.E. Rooks, C.W. Royal, Ernie Giles, Buford Giles, R.C. Sanders, W.A. Cole, L. R. Keener, Dr. Corley Odom and W. L. Bone.

Mr. Stovall died Saturday in a local hospital after suffering injuries Saturday morning when run over by an automobile.
