Donnis A. Keim
Donnis A. Keim, 76, Topeka, died Thursday, Sept. 4, 1997, at his home.
Mr. Keim owned and operated restaurants for many years in Wakefield, Topeka and Lawrence before retiring in September 1986. He served in the marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II.
He was born Dec. 26, 1920, in Talmage, the son of Norman and Clara Wingard Keim. He was reared in Dickinson County and he moved to Topeka in 1950.
Mr. Keim was a member of Crestview United methodist Church, Siloam Lodge No. 225, Scottish Rite Bodies, and he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He also was a member of the Arab Shrine and American Legion Capitol Post No. 1.
He was married to Roxie Sherraden on Jan. 13, 1939, in Chapman. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Jack Keim, Lawrence; two brothers, Kenneth Keim, Albuquerque, N.M. and Dewey Keim, Sharon Springs, Calif.; a sister, Clara Davidson, Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Midtown Chapel. Burial will be Monday at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Keim will lie in state at the funeral home, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
