Milton McKee Ritch was a son of Elijah Ritch (1813-1870) and his wife Elizabeth Morris (1814-1886), of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. His paternal grandparents were John Ritch & his wife Susannah Helms, and his maternal grandparents were Philemon Ritch & his wife Mary Shaffer/Shaver, all of Mecklenburg.
Around 1879, Milton married Lizzie McLaurin, a of John Cameron McLaurin & Margaret Neill. They appear in the 1880 census of Laurinburg, Richmond (now Scotland) County, NC. They had two children, Mary E. (Nov. 1880) and Thomas W. (Aug. 1883). I will add more information when I find it.
