Amanda Belle Phipps Kennon was born on January 1, 1856 in Dadeville, Dade County, Missouri. She died of natural causes on June 12, 1935 in Marion, Polk County, Missouri.

On November 28, 1875, Amanda married George W. Lawrence, in Dallas County, Missouri. Amanda and George Lawrence had one son, Samuel Thomas Lawrence (1876-1962). In 1882, George W. Lawrence died in Dallas County, Missouri, aged 26.

According to the 1900 federal census, Amanda gave birth to four children who died. It is not clear if they were issues of this marriage or her subsequent marriage to George W. Coberly.

Amanda married George Washington Coberly on Aug. 8, 1886, six months after his wife, Elizabeth died. Amanda and George Washington Coberly’s only child, Loretta was born on Dec. 4, 1888 in Cliquot, Polk County, Missouri.
On Sept 17, 1905, Loretta A. Coberly married Jesse Columbus Ables. Thirteen months later, on October 29, 1906, George Washington Coberly died in Oklahoma while visiting his daughter Emma Thruston from a prior marriage.

Five years later, on October 12, 1911, Amanda married Tillman Howard Kennon in Dunnegan, Polk County, Missouri.

On March 11, 1925, Tillman Howard Kennon, who was a farmer, died of pneumonia in Campbell, Polk County, Missouri. He was buried in the Dunnegan Cemetery on March 12, 1925.

At the time of the 1930 federal census, Amanda was living in West Point, Bates, Missouri with Samuel T. Lawrence, her son from her first marriage.

Amanda had 14 grandchildren. Samuel had nine children — Marshall, Marion, Otis, Oran, Laura, Laura, Lorene, Margarette and William. Amanda’s daughter Loretta, had five children — Lucia and Jessie May Ables, George Raymond Crites and Maggie Crites and her twin sister, who both died in infancy in 1919.

According to her death certificate, Amanda Belle Phipps Lawrence Coberly Kennon was buried in the Salem Cemetery on June 13, 1935.
