Obituary from Post Register (Idaho Falls, ID) - 8 July 2008:
Our much beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, AlDeen Winters, surrounded by her loved ones, returned to her Heavenly Father on July 3, 2008. Mom was born April 3, 1934, in Parker, Idaho. She was the middle child of Maude and Irvin Archibald. Her early childhood was spent in Teton and St. Anthony, Idaho, where she attended South Fremont High School and was the editor of her school paper.
On December 27, 1952, she married her one and only, Bryce Winters, in Teton, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized and family sealed together in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 21, 1965. As newlyweds, Mom and Dad spent the first two years of their marriage in Pennsylvania while Dad served in the United States Air Force. They enjoyed attending professional baseball games and visiting Niagara Falls. Fulfilling a life- long dream, they built their home at 457 Maple Drive in Rexburg in January 1961.
Mom was an active member of the LDS church and held countless service positions during her lifetime. Two of her favorites were Primary Chorister and Missionary Correspondent. Mom loved to attend the temple every week and enjoyed the peace she received. She enjoyed the company of others, and in her spare time, she loved to quilt, listen to church hymns and country music, read and complete jigsaw puzzles. However, her number one passion was shopping. Whether it be a garage sale or a mall, she loved to shop.
She is survived by her children, Laurie Winters of Layton, Utah, Rayleen Winters of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Randy (Melissa) Winters of Draper, Utah; her sister, Wanda (Roger) Petersen of Rexburg, Idaho; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. AlDeen was preceded in death by her parents, Maude and Irvin Archibald; her brother, Ray Archibald; and her loving husband, Bryce Winters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at the Rexburg East Stake Center, 387 South 400 East, Rexburg, Idaho, with Bishop Kip Hartvigsen officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Teton-Newdale Cemetery under the direction of Flamm Funeral Home of Rexburg.
