John Jacob Arick, 76 years old died Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock at his home three and 1/2 miles South-east of Roanoke in Jackson township, Huntington County. Death was caused by complication of diseases.
Mr. Arick was born March 10, 1846 in Jackson township. He was the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Arick. Mr. Arick lived in Jackson township all his life.
Surviving are the widow, two daughters, Mrs. Izora Logan, Fort Wayne and Mrs Leola Ervin of Huntington, and 5 sons; Charles Arick of Roanoke, Jacob. John W. and Silas all of Fort Wayne and Ernest Arick of Kenosha, Wisconsin. Four surviving sisters are; Mrs. Margaret Settlemyre of Roanoke, Mrs. Samentha Caley of Mt. Etna, Mrs. Mary Meadaugh of Ossian and Mrs. Marinda Settmyre of Roanoke.
Mr. Arick was a member of the Odd Fellow at Roanoke for a number of years. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church at Roanoke with Rev. C. Emery Smith in charge. Burial will be at the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Members of the Odd Fellows will have charge of the services. {transcribed from the Monday February 5, 1923 Indiana Herald...map}
