Dr. Harper son of Marvin and Minnie Brooks Harper was born September 8, 1922 in Steele, MO died August 24, 2014.
Guy Reginald served in the European Theater during WW2 1943-1945. He was a graduate of the University of Missouri and received his Doctor of Medicine from Washington University of St Louis, MO in 1952. His internship and residency were completed at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, IN. He began his private practice as a family physician in Charleston, IL 1954-1984. He was on the staff of the Community Hospital and then Sarah Bush Memorial Medical Center Mattoon, IL. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy (Gerding) Harper and his children, Chrys (Peter) Kemezys, Robin (Gary) Smart, Reg (Nancy), Jill, and Dr. Roy (Sherry) Harper; 10 grandchildren; brother, Bobby Joe (Bessie). He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
