Dorothy Pearl passed away on January 25, 2015 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 99 years, 11 Months and 29 days. She was born to Lewis D. and Amanda (Dotterer) Renollet in Harper, Kansas. She attended school at Harper High School, graduating with the class of 1933.

She married Cleo Pearl on October 22, 1934 in Wichita, KS. To this union was born three sons, Carroll, Harold and Lyle. Dorothy was active in the lives of her boys, supporting everything they did. Dorothy was also active in the Twentieth Century Book Club, Banner Club and was a 4-H Leader of the Wide Awake Club for many years.

She was a homemaker until her sons were in high school. She then attended Business School in Wichita, riding the Hopkins Bus every day from Harper. Upon completion from Business School, Dorothy worked at the Harper County Courthouse and then the K-State Research Extension office in Anthony as their clerk for 25 years until her retirement.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Amanda Renollet, husband, Cleo A. on December 31, 2001; grandson Michael Pearl; her brothers, Marcene, Merle, Glenn,and Wayne, her sisters, Treva Maddux, and Wanda Johnston.

Dorothy will be deeply missed by her sons, Carroll Pearl and his wife, Patricia, of Slidell, Louisiana; Harold Pearl and his wife Nita, and Lyle Pearl and his wife Gail both of Harper, Kansas. She will be also missed by nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Prairie Rose Funeral Home in Harper with Pastor David Worthan officiating. Recorded music played was “Amazing Grace” and “In The Garden”. Casket bearers were Steve Pearl, Mark Pearl, Morgan Pearl, Andrew Peckerar, David Worthan, Roger Murdock and Delmar Evans. Interment followed at the Harper Cemetery. Memorials may be sent in Dorothy’s name to the Harper County Extension office, in care of the funeral home.
