Eleazer Alexander was born to Ezra Alexander and Mary Polk on 23 Nov 1763 in North Carolina. He came to Maury County with the earliest pioneers, settling on land on Carter's Creek in 1808 that was granted to Revolutionary War soldier, Benjamin Carter -- brother of Eleazer's wife, Margaret. He married Margaret Carter, daughter of Robert Carter & Margaret Bronson, in North Carolina about 1788. She was born in North Carolina n 19 Sep 1770. They were friends of the Ezekiel Polks. In fact, a granddaughter of the Polks married a son of Eleazer & Margaret Alexander. He died on 26 Oct 1810 in Maury County, thus being one of the earliest burieals recorded in Maury County. His wife Margaret died on 27 July 1858.
