Muncie - Ruth E. Wenger, 94, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation after a brief illness.
She was born May 14, 1920 at her parents' home on Fifth Street in Connersville, and lived in Connersville off and on during her life. She married Harry R. Wenger on February 16, 1940 and lived in Shelbyville for eighteen years. Ruth had her only child Kenneth F. Wenger on December 16, 1942 in Shelbyville.
In 1957, she moved with her husband and son back to Connersville and resided there until the death of her husband Harry on February 8, 1974. She then moved to Muncie and lived with her son Kenneth (wife, Laura) until September 2012.
Mrs. Wenger was a member of Industry United Methodist Church and served on the choir and was the captain of the prayer chain for several years.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and good music. She was also an avid Indiana Pacer fan.
She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Mrs. Wenger is survived by her son Kenneth Wenger (wife, Laura), Muncie; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Smalley, Danridge, TN, and Cheryl Susann Landis, Ingalls, IN; three great grandchildren, Allison Smalley, Charles Michael Landis III, and Bryce Kenneth Landis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry R. Wenger, her mother, Clara Partlow Perin, her dad, Kenneth Adrien Perin; three brothers, Wilbur, Charles, George; and two sisters, Laura Border and Irmadeen Wright.
