The City of Portland birth records show that Violet was born January 15th. There are a couple places that indicate Violet was born January 16th. Those records are in error. The record at the time of her birth says she was born the 15th not the 16th. That is the correct record.

Violet Pearson was born in Portland, Oregon , January 15, 1898

Her first child was Richard Charlton, born to she and Gordon Charlton about 1918. He was married to Ruth, had one child Pam, and died suddenly about 1963.

Her second child, Violet and Gordon Charlton adopted Jeanne Charlotta Charlton about 1921, I was unable to find any birth records in my Grandmothers belonging but suspect it was a friends baby. I was told she was adopted from Albertina Kerr, and Orphanage in Portland Oregon at the time. My Grandmother never spoke of it, and I was too young to be interested in asking.

Violets third child was Violet Kathleen Lousignont, my Mother, born 11-23-28. Peter P Lousignont was her father and my Grandmothers second husband. He was abusive, my Grandmother left him, had their marriage annulled, and my Mother's birth record sealed. Warren Jefferson Kinder adopted my mother known as Kathleen about 1935. As you can imagine that was very difficult for a women to do at that time, so you know it was traumatic. The circumstances of my Grandmothers marriage and annulment were never spoken nor did we know that Kinder was not our biological Grandfather until after the death of my Grandmother.

Violet is a direct descendant of William Hobson (Derbyshire, England) who came on the first wagon trains to Astoria, Oregon, 1843. Williams daughter Emma married Ninian Eberman when she was 13, they made a donation land claim in Astoria. Their daughter Mary Eberman married Carlos Shane, had numerous children including Fannie. Carlos's family were Colonial Settlers of Virginia and Carlos was a participant in the settling of the Pacific NW. He abandoned his Astoria family. John Ferrel adopted Fannie. Fannie Gertrude Ferrel (often misspelled Farrell) married Andrew Pearson and are Violet Gertrude Pearson's parents.
