Sudden Death

James C. Leasure, a wellknown and higly respected citizen, died suddenly at the Shenango Vally Hospital on Tuesday evening. Mr. Leasure had been ill only a few days and his death was entirely unexpected. About a week ago he complained of not feeling well, and visited the office a a physician, who prescribed for him. As the physician did not see him again he supposed that he was getting along all right. On Tuesday he happened to be attending another paitent in the postoffice block. He learned that Leasure roomed there and went in to see him. He was surprised to find him very ill and a dignosis of the case showed that it was a very bad case of pnemonia.

The physician had an ambulance summoned and Leasure was taken to the hospital. On arriving there he insisted on being permitted to walk up the stairs to the room which he was to occupy. It was found that both lungs were affected by the disease and in four hours after he arrived at the hospital he was dead.

Mr. Leasure was a son of the brave Colonel Daniel Leasure of the famous Roundhead regiment. He was born in Darlington, Beaver County, about 55 years ago. He received a good common school education and later learned the printer's trade. He came to New Castle with his father when he was yet a boy. After completing his trade he went to Pittsburg, where he worked for some time. Later he went to St. Paul with his father. At the latter's death, about 12 years ago, he returend to New Castle, where he has since resided. He never married. His nearest living relatives are two sisters and a brother.

They are Mrs. James W. Raymond of Minneapolis; Miss Edith Leasure of Minneapolis, and John Leasure of Tacoma.

Of late years Mr. Leasure has been employed as a storekeeper at the works of the American Steel and Wire company in this city. He was a man of kind and agreeable disposition andone who was universally liked among his associates. He would never knowingly do any man an injury and was always read to aid and comfort those in distress. The qualities of true manliness endeared him to a large circle of friends and acquaintances. When no at work he loved the freedom of the hills and valleys and was never happier than when camping in some secluded nook near in nature's heart. He was one of the organizers of old camp "Tiptop" an organization of well known New Castle men, which flourished many years ago. Later he was associated with a number of other camping parties. Conneaut Lake was one of his favorite camping grounds. Last summer he spent much of his time caping with friends along the Mahoning.

His jovial disposition always made him a welcome member of any outing party. The funeral will take place from the residens of his aunt, Mrs. John S. Taggart, 70 East North street, on Thursday at 3:30. Interment at Greenwood.
