He immigrated to New York in 1881 preceding his family which came later that year. He was a mason. His wife and at least 2 children died during the time. He married a newly widowed woman, Sophia Christina Bobzein Winter in 1882 in Benton county, IA. Sophia died in 1885 and is buried in Conn Cemetery in Iowa county next to her first husband, Johann Winter who died in 1880.

In the marriage records of Frederick to Sophia, he stated that his father was Frederick and his mother was Dorothea Prahm.

In 1889/90 there was an entry in the Grand Forks, ND city directory for Ringlieb, Fred laborer and Ringlieb, Frederick brick mason. Is this father and son?

In 1904 there is an entry in the Seattle city directory for Ringlieb, Frederick, porter.

Frederick Anthony Ringlieb "Tony" is found on the 1910 census of Goldendale, WA. In 1920 he is found in Portland, OR. Shortly after the census was taken, 20 Jan 1920, Anthony died in Sutico, Pacific, WA. He was a steam engineer for a logging company. Just the year before, 9 Jul 1919, he had married Estell McMinn in Vancouver, WA. Estell then married Gustaf Larson.

Obit: Frederick Ringlieb of Portland, OR dropped dead of apoplexy at Camp No 1 logging camp Tuesday morning Jan 20th. The wife of the unfortunate man came from Portland Wednesday to attend her husband's funeral. Services were held from the Chapel of the Henderson Undertaking Parlors. The Rev C B Latimer of the Presbyterian Church officiated. The deceased had but recently been employed at the camp. He was 46 years of age and leaves no relatives to mourn his loss other than his wife.
