OBITUARY :
BONNIE L. (DOPP) POPER, 65, of Clear Spring, MD, passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015 in Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD, after an extended illness.

Born June 3, 1949 in Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of George E. and Ruth M. (Coldren) Dopp, of Greencastle, PA.

She lived in the Greencastle area for most of her life, attending Greencastle Antrim High School. She moved to her present address in 1972.

Mrs. Poper was a faithful servant and in years past, worked in the Day Care of Heritage Academy Christian School in Hagerstown; She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Temple, Hagerstown, where she was involved in the Bus Ministry, the Children's Ministry and sang in the church choir. She was a woman of great strength and a fighter to the end. She loved to cook, and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a faithful loving wife to her husband, Gary W. Poper, whom she married November 6, 1965 in Hagerstown.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by two children: Thomas W. Poper, Clear Spring and Tina F. Garling, wife of Mark, Mont Alto, PA; two grandchildren: Colton W. Garling and Allyson M. Garling, both of Mont Alto; a sister, Linda J. Kingsley; two brothers: David R. Dopp and Wayne E. Dopp; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, January 30, 2015, in Emmanuel Baptist Temple, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland, with Pastor Curtis King and Pastor Ed Hampton officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg, PA.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service, Friday morning, in the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Christian School, 16221 National Pike, Hagerstown, Maryland. Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, Greencastle, is handling the arrangements.
