Intelligent, Brad loved to read, study and learn about the history of his home town of Lucas, as well as the surrounding communities and local farms of Richland County. A historian who appreciated the hard work and dedication of his ancestors, Brad is now at peace after passing away Monday morning, January 26, 2015 in Riverside Methodist Hospital.
The son of Charles and Virginia (Harbaugh) Schrack, Brad was born June 6, 1943 in Lucas where as a child served as a boy scout. Brad was graduated from Lucas High School in 1961. Following high school, Brad became a certified carpenter. Hard working, he operated his carpentry business, L&S Interiors, and for 26 years worked for J&B Acoustical.
Brad was a walking resource of his family’s history. Proud of his family’s heritage, through searching and studying, Brad discovered that he was a great-great-great-grandson of David Schrack, who built the Malabar Farm Inn, in 1820, over a century before Louis Bromfield purchased the property.
Brad loved to hunt and hunted during all seasons.
He was a member of the NRA, Lucas Historical Society, Mansfield Loyal Order Moose, and Ohio Carpenters Union.
He is survived by daughters Lori, Jodi, and Tina; grandchildren Ashli (Jeremy), Britni (Justin), Kristina (Brennan), Whitni (Matt), Sarah (Aaron), Damian, and Sophia; eight great- grandchildren; sister Nancy; several nieces and nephews as well as close friends at Derrenbergers.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by wife Linda Schrack; daughter Lisa D. Schrack, and brothers Ronnie, Roger, and Gary.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 3, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will be on Wednesday February 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. Celebrant Jerry Wilson will officiate.
Memorial contributions to Lucas Historical Society may be made through the funeral home.
