"The remains of Frank Whitnell, who died at Camp Lewis, Washington, October 29, arrived in Brookfield Monday on train 56 accompanied by a brother, Joseph of Spokane, as well as a soldier from the camp.

The funeral was held this morning from the rural home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Whitnell, at 10 o'clock conducted by the family pastor, Rev. E. L. Robison, and interment made in Rose Hill cemetery.

The cause of death was pneumonia, but the young man did not have influenza according to the state-ment of the soldier who is here, the epidemic not being prevalent in that camp.

Frank Whitnell was 30 years of age. Five years ago he went west and had made good in the business of life. He was of the class of 1908, and the members who reside here at the present time remember him as a young man of splendid qualities and who held the esteem of his classmates. Of modest demeanor, of manley mein, Frank Whitnell lived a consistent Christian life and the sorrowing ones have the sympathy of his large circle of friends in their bereavement."
