Gifford “Butch” Frost, age 69, of Dunkirk, Maryland, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, January 19, 2015.
He was born in Washington, DC on September 17, 1945, to the late Gifford E. Frost, Sr. and Louise (Vann) Frost and was one of four children. He grew up in Capital Heights and graduated from Central High School. He wed his high school sweetheart, Judith shortly after graduation.
For the last 21 years, he lived in Dunkirk. He enjoyed watching and participating in his children and grandchildren’s sporting events and was a very devoted Redskins fan. The most enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren. He could never get enough of that.
Butch was the beloved husband of the late Judith R. Frost for over 47 years. He was the loving father of Thomas E. Frost and his partner Michael J. Kane, Gifford E. Frost, III and his wife Robin and Mary L. Ottey and her husband James. He was the devoted grandfather of Alexis, Chantel, Devin, Sean, Kameron, Cassie, Christian, Haley, Kattie O. and Katie and is survived by his siblings; Jacqueline Williams, Melvina Michaels and William Frost.
Butch was a journeyman by trade, working as a bookbinder. His children fondly remember him as the family jokester.
