HEYBURN – Ella Mae Mai, 91, passed away peacefully at her home in Heyburn on Friday, Jan. 16, 2015.

Ella was born in Lascassas, Tennessee, on August 15, 1923. She married a soldier, Arden Jolley, who passed away in 1958. Three children were born from this union: Janie (Richard) Carlson, Larry (Wilda) Jolley, and Helen (Dee) Haycock.

Ella then married Norman F. Mai in 1963, where they built their own home and farmed in Heyburn.

Aside from being a homemaker and a farmer's wife, Ella worked for the Paul Elementary School Lunch program and was active in the Church of Christ.

She was a loving partner, mother and grandmother. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by her twin brother, Wiley Ray Herrod, of Antioch, TN.

She was preceded in death by her two sisters; one brother; son, Larry; and her first husband, Arden.

The celebration of life to honor Ella Mai will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 23, at the Central Church of Christ, 724 S. 4th St, in Rupert. The urn will be placed at the Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Intermountain Homecare, 1031 E. Main St., Burley, Idaho, 83318.

Cremation and arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
