There isn’t very much information on his life in Grindelwald, Switzerland nor to much information on his life in Lancaster Co., Pa. It is known that he owned 160 acres of land in Bethel Twp., Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania He was also a very fine craftsman and made violins, a trade he learned in Switzerland.

Christian Burgner and Anna Barbara Bowman Burgner had four children. Christian Burgner died unexpectedly in 1753 or 1754, leaving no Last Will and Testament the Administration of the estate fell to his brother, Peter Burgner. Under court order, Peter sold his brother’s 160 acres for £139.10.0 to support the couple’s four children, Peter (1748–1824), Christian Peter (b.1750), Hans (b.1751), and Barbara (b.1753).

Special consideration for Christian Burgner’s children was also made by their paternal grandfather, Peter Burgner. When Peter Burgner the elder died in 1768, he divided his estate between his three surviving children with a forth share plus five shillings divided between the four children of his eldest son Christian who predeceased him.

By January 21, 1754, Christian Burgner was deceased and died at the age of 37 years, exact cause of his death is uncertain. About 1755 his widow, Barbara Bowman Burgner married a second time to Peter Descher or Dester.

Barbara Bowman was married about 1747 to Christian Burgner, probably in Lancaster Co. Pennsylvania. She married second to Peter Dester in 1755. Christian Burgener-Burgner owned a farm of 160 acres in Bethel Twp. Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.

After Christian Burgner death in January 1754 his brother, Peter Burgner was appointed by the court to be Administrator of his Estate. He sold the farm to Peter Dester who by then had married Christian's widow, Barbara in 1755. Pursuant to the court order the 160 acres was sold on 2 September 1766 for 139 pounds and 10 shillings lawful money of Pennsylvania to the highest bidder, Peter Doester.

Christian Burgner didn’t leave any Last Will and Testament and his brother, Peter Burgner was appointed the Administrator of his estate. An Inventory of his estate was filed with the court in Lancaster Co. Pa. On 2 September 1766, an order was issued by the Registrar General of the Probate Court to sell the 160 acres of land to settle his estate for the support of his four minor children, Peter, Christian, Hans and Barbara Burgner.

The Administration of his estate can be found in the Index to Letters of Administration, Book I, page 466 located in the Lancaster County Courthouse in Lancaster Co., Pa.
