MRS. MATILDA CARLBERG Mrs. Matilda P. Carlberg, 93, of Route 3, Galesburg, died Monday at 1 p.m. at Cottage Hospital. The former Matilda Peterson was born Nov. 27, 1883, in Duluth, Minn., and married Philip A. Carlberg June 1,1904, in Rock Island. He died in 1947. Surviving are a son, Richard T. Carlberg, Route 3, Galesburg; a daughter, Mrs. Vincent (Viola) Strand, Chicago; a brother, Axel T. Peterson, Vero Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren, eight great - grandchildren and a great - great - grandchild. Mrs. Carlberg was a member of the Covenant Church and its church circle. Funeral will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Hinchliff - Pearson - West Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Richard Swanson will officiate. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the church, the family said.
