Margaret Ann Jenkins Singleton, 82, of Lexington, formerly of Willisburg, passed away at 3:45 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015 at Baptist Health in Lexington. A native of Washington County, she was born on March 1, 1932, to the late Purdom and Hazel Snider Jenkins. She was a member of the Mt. Freedom Baptist Church where she formally served as the church treasurer, a 1949 graduate of Willisburg High School, for 28 years she served as the secretary of the Willisburg Elementary School and was also a bus driver.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Monty Singleton on Nov. 18, 1998; a son, Blaine Singleton on Sept. 3, 2004; two brothers, J.B. Jenkins and Eugene Jenkins and four sisters, Sara Peavler, Joyce Gentry, Lula Brothers and Josephine Hammond.

Survivors include, two daughters, Debbie Singleton (Ron Carp) of Lexington and Christy Deacon (Coleman) of Smiths Grove; a son, Marty Singleton (Kent Cottam) of Newburgh, N. Y.; a daughter-in-law, Jeannine Singleton of Lexington; three grandchildren, Patrice Kaira (James), Shaun Deacon (Angela) and Barrett Singleton (Claire); two brothers, Paul Jenkins (Jane) of Willisburg and Ed Jenkins (Pat) of Louisville and friends and caregivers, Debbie Bruner and Cheri Cartwright.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan 28, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Elgin Emmons, officiating. Rev. Cal Adams, a former pastor of, Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, will assist him. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Birkes, Paul Hood, Todd Lauersdorf, Manny Saenz, Travis Peavler and Casey Peavler. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to; The Mt. Freedom Baptist Church, The American Cancer Society or God's Love We Deliver. Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
