Shirley Frances (Keel) Emmons, age 70, known affectionately as "Shirl" by her friends and family, died in Hico, Texas on January 25, 2015, following her long and valiant fight with early onset Alzheimer's Disease.

Shirley was born on December 31, 1944, in DeRidder, Louisiana, to parents E. J. Keel and Sibyl (Woods) Keel.

She graduated from Newton High School, Newton, Texas, in 1963. Following graduation, Shirley moved to Bentonia, Mississippi, where she met and married Levi Twiner,III. Upon her return to Newton, she worked for Pace's Drug Store and then Continental Telephone Company.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Shirlene Twiner Kell (Larry) and Selena Loraine Twiner Sanders (Joshua); three grandchildren; and one great grandchild; three sisters and one brother.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
