Myrtle Smith Ridge, 91, of Albemarle passed away Saturday January 24, 2015 in Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle.
Her funeral service will be 2 PM Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Pickler officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Stanly Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 PM.
Born December 1, 1923 in Montgomery Co., NC she was the daughter of the late Dexter C. Smith and Ada Hall Smith.
She was a homemaker and a member of Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Baxter C. Ridge on June 4, 1996.
Other survivors include daughters Vicky R. Russell and husband Joel of Albemarle and Bonnie R. Helms and husband Bobby of Locust, neice Deborah Hamilton of Albemarle, 3 grandchildren: Jeffrey Helms, Kevin Helms and Jerry Russell, 2 great-grandchildren: Regan Russell and Jacob Russell and caregivers Juanita W. Hartsell and Deborah Faulkner, both of Albemarle.
The family requests that memorials be made to Hospice of Stanly County, 960 N. First St., Albemarle, NC 28001.
