Alcee William Stewart, I was one of the children born to Alcee William Stewart, Jr. and his wife Abigail Webb Sargent. Alcee was an part owner (with his father) of the Gaines Lumber business.

Alcee was united in marriage twice during his life-time: first, in approximately 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to Ruth Woerner. Alcee and Ruth were married for 2 years when she was killed in a plane crash that she and her friend Mrs. Debbie Stanford were piloting.

And second, on April 30, 1935 in Webster Groves, St. Louis, Missouri, to Catherine Madison Henry. Alcee and Catherine were married for 18 years and there were no children born to them.

Alcee passed away at the age of 51 due to an esophageal hemorrhage secondary to esophageal cancer and cirrhosis of the liver according to her death record. Interment verified thru death certificate and cemetery records.
