John W. "Bill" Mayer, 94, of Columbus, died Friday, August 24, 2007 at Riverside United Methodist Hospital.

He was born Middleport, Ohio, a son of the late Henry and Margaret (Ohlinger) Mayer on November 11, 1912. Bill was preceded in death by his first wife Ada Mayer and his second wife Ruth Mayer.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of W.W.II, and had worked in sales selling farm machinery. He was a longtime member of Boulevard Presbyterian Church.

Bill is survived by special friend, Jennie Klamfoth; and her family, friends, Wibur "Sonny" and Mary Ann Yorde, Carol Fletcher, Bob Merkle; and other special neighbors. He also leaves behind many friends from his church.

Friends may call on Monday, August 27, 2007 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10 a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
