JENNIE LONG RAY, 81, of Steamboat Avenue died yesterday at home. She was the wife of George Ray and the late Alan E. Long.
Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, a daughter of the late Robert and Addie (Jones) Bowser, she moved to Providence when she was 3. She lived in Wickford since 1948, previously living in Cranston.
Mrs. Ray was a member of the Moosup Valley Grange, the Quidnessett Grange, the Kent County Pamona Grange, the Rhode Island State and National Granges and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was a founding member of the North Kingstown Senior Center and the Hope Circle Phillips Memorial Church in Cranston. She was a member of the North Kingstown Women's Club, the North Kingstown Swingers Club, the Mariners and the Poplar Point Association. She had attended the First Baptist Church in Wickford.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Robert Bowser.
