Helen A. Thurston, 95, of Jacksonville, formerly of New Berlin, died Sunday at Passavant Area Hospital, Jacksonville.
She was born Feb. 11, 1902, in Springfield, the daughter of Harry D. and Clara Lucas Montgomery.
She married John L. Thurston in Springfield in 1923; he died in 1955. Mrs. Thurston was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church and a charter member of the Springfield Motorboat Club.
Survivors: three nephews; a niece; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, McCullough Funeral Home, New Berlin, the Rev. Robert Strunk officiating.
Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park.
