Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Faith Southwest United Methodist Church with Pastor Jerry Raab officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Silent Home Cemetery in Oklahoma. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Carl was born Nov. 23, 1938, in Greer County, Okla., to Fred and Ora Allen. He was raised in Crawford, Okla., where he graduated from Crawford High School in 1957. He married Fredia Young on March 23, 1957, that same year.
Carl worked as a pharmaceutical representative and as a toy maker for most of his life. He was known to be intelligent and was a great source of wisdom to those who knew him. He was the one in the family who held everyone together and always kept them connected. Carl’s friends and family would say he will be remembered as being ornery and quite the storyteller.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ormand and Norman Allen.
Survivors include his wife, Fredia Allen of Amarillo; two daughters, Teresa Banks and husband Jeff of Houston and Sheila Kight of Canton; three brothers, Robert Allen of Clinton, Okla., Lynn Allen of Dill City, Okla., and Fred Allen Jr. and wife June of Cheyenne, Okla.; and two grandsons, Cody and Keelor Kight of Canyon.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
