The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Mr. Jeff Kellum Officiating.
Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. prior to the Service at Waller Funeral Home.
Born in Jacksonville, FL to the late Avery and Ellen Glover Wilkins McClurkin.
Dr. McClurkin was a Retired Professor of Biology at the University of Mississippi and also Retired as a Forest Hydrology Lab/Soil Scientist.
He was a Member of the Toastmaster General, the Chrysanthemum Society and the Mary Rose Society.
He Served the United States in World War II as a Naval Aviator.
Along with his Parents, he was preceded in death by both of his Wives, Iola Hardy Taylor (1958 – 1990) and Jonell Embry Bennett (1998 – 2014).
Dr. McClurkin is survived by his two Daughters, Lee Reed and Husband, Doug, of Charlotte, NC; and Ellen Kellum and Husband, Jeff, of Oxford, MS; a Son, Doug McClurkin and Wife, Dawn, of Oxford, MS; two Step Daughters, Allison Bailey of Oxford, MS; and Cassandra McBeath of Philadelphia, MS; a Step Son, Robert Bennett of Marion, AR; Seven Grandchildren; and Five Great Grandchildren.
