Alice Jean Bender was born 1925 in Glens Falls, New York, she was the daughter of Edgar and Eleanor Alice Bender.
As a young girl Jean moved to Plant City, Florida with her family and later attended Florida State University for Women.
In 1945 she married Frank Wynn Sigman in Hillsborough County.
She worked as a teacher's aide, the Winter Haven Hospital in the admitting department, and the American Red Cross and Deaf Service Center.
She was a Girl Scout Volunteer and Troop Leader, a participant in the American Field Service Exchange Student Program and Keep Winter Haven Beautiful organization.
At the age of 88 she passed away on May 29, 2013 in Fort Meyers, Florida.
