Carrie Jean Smith Lingerfelt, 81, of Hickory passed away on January 19, 2015 at Trinity Ridge. Born on September 26, 1933 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Eugene and Dessie Emm Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and four sisters. Survivors include her loving husband of 63 years, Bobby Lingerfelt; sons, Gary Lingerfelt, Bobby Lee Lingerfelt; daughter, Kathy Thomas; grandchildren, Michael Lee Lingerfelt, Lindsay Lingerfelt, Tonya Yount and Monika Hayes; great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Edison Honeycutt, Erika Yount; sister, Ruth Holland; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service was held on January 22, 2015 at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial followed at Catawba Memorial Park. Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations was in charge of arrangements.
