WILLIAMSFIELD - Mary Jane Christianson, 62, of Williamsfield, died at 4:17 PM, Monday, January 19, 2015 in the emergency room at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 23 at the Williamsfield United Methodist Church. Pastor Jennifer Seder will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of the services at the church. Burial will be in Williamsfield Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mary Jane Christianson Memorial Fund. Rux Funeral Home in Williamsfield is in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 15, 1952 in Galesburg and adopted and raised by Josh and Stella (Spencer) Crouch. She married Richard “Nels” Christianson on December 29, 1989 in Williamsfield. He survives, as do three sons, Jeremy (Beth) Yelm of Caseyville, IL, Juston (Christina Legaz) Christianson of West Peoria, IL and Nathan (Heather) Christianson of Lincolnton, NC, her siblings, Robert Johnson, Dennis Higgins, Darryl Damitz, Debbie Johnson and Donna Damitz, six grandchildren, Sean, Lauren, Taylor, Brynley Rose, Oliver and Izzy, two great grandchildren, Ryker and Hayden, a special niece, Michelle Damitz and various extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William Damitz and a nephew, Billy Damitz.

Mary Jane was raised in the Appleton area before moving to and living in Williamsfield. She graduated from Williamsfield High School in 1970. She had worked as an aide at the Williamsfield Retirement Center and in her earlier years had also worked at the Squirrel Cage, Neighbors Tap and the Cookie Factory. She loved her cats and enjoyed flowers, gardening, doing yard work and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mary Jane was beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. She touched all lives she came in contact with and always had a listening ear and would lend a helping hand anytime. She had a beautiful heart and had nothing but love to share. She was a soldier through all her health battles and was a true warrior.
