Purna’s greatest joy was serving God and being with her family. Purna loved to sing and study the Bible. She loved people and going to all community events. She was a member of the Clarkridge Fire Department Auxiliary and enjoyed singing with the Firebells. As long as she was able she loved working in her garden, canning and sharing the produce with the whole community. She was an avid quilter and made beautiful quilts for all of her grandchildren, for friends, and for baby showers and wedding showers. When she became disabled she moved to Good Samaritan Society and up until last year participated in the many activities they provided.
She is survived by 2 sons: Thurlo (Joyce) Oels of Russelville, AR and Jerry (Vicki) Oels of Clarkridge, AR; one sister-in-law, Betty Jackson of San Angelo, TX; three grandsons: Gary Oels (Teresa) of Dardenelle, AR, Keith Oels(Marsha) of Russellville, AR and Rodney Oels (Susan) of Columbus, KS.; great grandchildren: Jacob Oels, Lacie Bohannan (Kyle), J.D. Purna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.D. in 1995, three brothers, Roscoe, Russell, and Coleman; three sisters, Lola Mitchell, Dorothy Mitchell and Mishie Jackson.
