Mrs. Eugene Watson, 53 years old, died at the Atchison hospital yesterday afternoon at 4:45 o'clock, death being due to cancer. Mrs. Watson's illness dates back one month and she has only been considered seriously ill a week. She was taken to the hospital a week ago Monday, and on the following day was operated upon for cancer. At the time it was found that the operation would not be of lasting benefit, but it made her last days much more comfortable. Mrs. Watson is the wife of Eugene Watson, who lives one and a half miles northwest of Atchison. She was born in Baldwin, Kas., her maiden name being Miss Lida Fulton. She was married in Lawrence, Kas., 15 years ago came with her husband to Atchison. Besides her husband Mrs. Watson is survived by sister, Mrs. A. G. Ellison, of Kansas City, who has been her devoted attendant. The funeral will occur tomorrow afternoon from the Sawin & Douglass chapel. The Rev. Dr. Wiley Keve will conduct them. The burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
