CHARLOTTE - Bernice Edmunds Ratteree was born in Robeson County, a daughter of the late Joseph Bunyan Edmunds and Evelyn Ammons Edmunds. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and teacher and a gifted homemaker and gardener. Her mission in life was to nurture all growing things.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Leonard Ratteree Jr.; and her brother, Joseph Harold Edmunds.
Bernice is survived by two sons, Bill Ratteree (Leigh) of Gex, France and Rock Ratteree (Jane) of Charlotte; daughter, Sharon Ratteree of Charlotte; a sister, Mary Kathryn Autry (Jack) of Red Springs; amd 2 grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at McEwen Funeral Service, Derita Chapel, on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
