Mrs. Della Fookes, fifty-two years old, wife of William M. Fookes, died suddenly from heart trouble at 5:30 o'clock Friday evening at her home, 454 West Washington street.
The deceased was the daughter of C. P. and Martha Cherry Alley, having been born in Shelby county December 7, 1882.
She was married to Mr. Fookes December 26, 1902, four children being born to this union.
Mrs. Fookes, who had been a resident of Shelbyville all her life, was a member of the First Christian church.
Surviving are the husband, and three children, Mrs. Vaughn Hutchins of Manilla; Miss Lorene Fookes of Columbus, O., and Miss Lavaughn Fookes at home; one sister, Mrs. Grace Bennett of this city; a brother, George Alley of Philadelphia, Pa.; and one granchild.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock Monday afternoon at the home with the Rev. Paul E. Million, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing.
